Our Process

Preparation:

The Kitchen and Bathroom installer will remove old countertops. Plumbing and electrical features will have to be disconnected. If the removal of the countertop is included in the project, we will clear any appliances on the surface. During this time, the client will not have access to kitchen for several hours. Client will need to remove any items that will be needed such as silverware, plates, etc. Pets and children will need to stay clear of the area of work. We will need a clear pathway so the countertop installers have easy access.

Timeframe:

The amount of time for installation will depend on the size of project, design details, and material. Other factors that affect the amount of time is accessibility, complexity of space and counter disassembly/removal.

Countertop Installation:

Slabs will be cut beforehand by skilled fabricators to pre-fit taken measurements. This includes custom edges and making cutouts for under-mount sinks and cooktops. Once the slabs are cut and prepared, they will be laid upon the bare counters, leveled, and secured. The seams (where two pieces of stone are put together) will be joined with epoxy that is mixed and matched with the same color as the countertop. Finally, the joined areas are smoothed out. Only a very thin line will remain visible.

After Installation:

At this stage, the countertop will be sealed, leveled, dried, and quality control checked. Plumbing and any light fixtures will need to be assembled. The lead installer will go over with the client the specific on going care and maintenance information for your particular countertop material. Granite varies from quartz and also marble so clients will need to know what care and considerations they need to take.
